Fractional CTO

Part-time technical leadership for a company that is not ready for a full-time one: roadmap, architecture, hiring, vendors and security.

Monthly

Who it is for

Founders and small companies whose business already runs on software, but who are not ready for a full-time CTO. Usually one of these sounds familiar:

  • You are signing off on architecture, hires and tools with no one on your side of the table.
  • One person, or one agency, understands the whole system, and nobody else can tell you what you actually own.
  • Every feature takes a month, and nobody can explain why.
  • A client, an investor or an auditor asks whether the platform is secure, and the answer is a shrug.

None of these is a people problem. They are what happens when a business grows faster than the system underneath it.

What it includes

Part-time technical leadership across the five areas a CTO answers for:

  • Roadmap. What to build now, what to postpone and what to stop, weighed by its cost and its return.
  • Architecture. Decisions on how the system is built, explained with their trade-offs so you can follow them.
  • Hiring. Which profiles the company needs, and someone technical on your side when you assess them.
  • Vendors. Agencies, freelancers and tools judged by what they deliver, so a change is not a quote you cannot evaluate.
  • Security. A clear answer for clients, investors and auditors, backed by how the system is actually built.

How it works

It is a monthly engagement with a defined scope, a start date and a single point of contact: me. I work with my own judgment and no hand-offs to hide behind. You tell me the goal; I take care of the path.

I apply the same principles I use as CTO of 360Solved, where I own the architecture, infrastructure, security, delivery and technical roadmap of a multi-tenant SaaS on AWS serverless:

  • The smallest solution that holds, with no layers nobody will maintain.
  • Nothing ships without tests and a way back.
  • Technology is measured in margin: every technical decision has a cost and a return.

What you have at the end

Every engagement is designed to end. The goal is not that you depend on me, but that your team can lead the technology and knows exactly what to ask for when it does need help.
